12/10/2023 - National Showcase - Gambrills, MD Landon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (80 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 74 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Landon is a solid 3B/RHP in the 2027 class. In the field, he has a quick 1st step and centers his body to the baseball. His exchanges are clean and gains a high ¾ release. Arm strength is there at 75 velo and working to throw the top of the baseball will improve accuracy. On the mound, he shows a clean arm and gets the most out of his body. Displays great poise and can put hitters away. His FB touched 72 and sat 70-71 consistently with life. SL ranged 60-1 with 11-5 shape and with faster hand speed, this pitch can become even tighter. His CH had gradual run at 61-2. At the plate, he demonstrated a solid approach and can use the whole field. Gets on base via walk or hit (reached base safely 6 out of 8 plate appearances) with keeping his barrel in the zone well. Overall, Landon is a solid two-way player in the 2027 class.

04/16/2023 - National Showcase - Charlottesville, VA Landon is a lean RHP/3B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 67-68 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
