07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC Landry continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Behind the dish, he shows a squared setup and presents a firm mitt, tracking balls well and sticks in the zone. He creates proper angles through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.26 with accuracy / carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach, spraying the ball to all fields. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity of 76 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run. Breaking ball has an 12/6 shape with downward break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds further arm strength through a long toss program. He is very coachable and dedicated, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.

03/17/2024 - National Showcase - Greenville, SC Landry is a tall, athletic C/RHP who is a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.31 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm action to work loose and free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 72-73 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Slider is harder with tight spin and short break. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Landry has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
