08/13/2023 - National Showcase - Colorado Springs, CO Leo is a 2025 RHP/1B prospect with a strong, athletic frame at 6'1" 190 pounds. At first, he moves well pre-pitch and shows off quick feet with agile movements to all sides. He gets in a low fielding position and presents firm hands out in front. He showed off a good backhand and the ability to pick it on throws. He has a quick exchange and makes accurate throws to his targets. He shows off an impressive arm and recorded a raw velo of 85 MPH. At the plate, he starts in an open stance and gets a good load. He does a good job of keeping his balance centered through contact and shows off a firm frontside with his lower half. He lets his hips work through contact and finishes strong. He flashed some hard contact and is capable of spraying the ball to all fields. On the mound, he shows off good presence and the ability to make positive adjustments. He gathers his balance over the rubber and gets on-time separation. His arm action is clean and he shows off a live arm. He works hard to stay closed on the front side and finish with his chest over his front knee. He ran his FB up to 80 MPH and showed good deception with the pitch with some tail. His CH flashes as an out pitch and he works hard to be consistent with it. Overall, Leo is someone we expect to play at the next level and we are excited to see his continued development!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
