01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Lex continues to show as a top prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off a soft chest. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 1.94 with accuracy / carry (87 mph velocity) on his throws. Offensively, he continues to shine, displaying excellent hitting abilities with pro level power potential through a squared setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation through a balanced approach. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength (94 mph exit velocity) and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight from backside into a firm front side. Lex has a big upside with a skill set that will play at a very high level.

06/21/2021 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Lex is a C prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame, well-proportioned, athletic build with strength present. Primary C, who has an easy 1 knee sit and low target. Quiet actions with ability to beat ball to spot and presents nice target for pitchers to throw to. Good flexibility in his secondary stance with ability to get down and create good blocking angles. Clean transfers, with a short arm action into an over-the-top release point, who gets rid of the ball. Good carry on his accurate throws with a best pop time of 2.00 seconds. 2-hand scoop on his block and recover. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright and square stance. Small hand load, with some looseness to his hands, who rotates lower half well. Short/compact swing who hit line drives consistently to all fields. In live game action, Lex reached base 4 times and recorded a wood bat exit velocity of 91mph. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Lex continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm with impressive pop times of 2.01. Offensively, he continues to shine through an open setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (90 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. He is aggressive as he attacks fastball early in the count.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Lex is a pure catch and throw backstop who also will make an impact with the bat. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm (84 mph) with impressive pop times of 2.07. Offensively, he continues to shine through a tall, open setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (91 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Lex is a coachable C prospect who showed well during the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. Behind the plate, Lex sits in an athletic stance and receives with a quiet glove. He shows good footwork to throw and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws accurate with carry through the 2B bag. He is smooth moving to block and covers up well. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a controlled stride. He is on time getting into a smooth load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid raw power. Overall, Lex is a talented prospect who should find success going into his freshman season.

08/25/2019 - College PREP - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Lex is an athletic C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Lex shows fluid footwork and centers the ball when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and gets into his load well. He takes a level swing with explosive bat speed, leading to solid pop to his pull side. Overall, Lex is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his freshman season.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Lex is a hard worker and talented 2023 catching prospect that continue to improve each event. Behind the dish, Lex starts in a balanced and athletic secondary stance. He presents a low/early target, works behind the ball, and controls balls down in the zone. When blocking, Lex leads with his glove, controls balls with his chest, and creates a good angle over the ball. When throwing he replaces his feet, has a quick release, and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Lex starts in a squared stance and has loose hands. He gets his front foot down on time, attacks the inside part of the ball, and rotates his core into the ball. Lex shows great leadership skills behind the plate and we hope to see him continue his progress.

11/03/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend (Ages 14-18) Lex is an athletic and talented 2023 catching prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend. Behind the dish, Lex has a balanced primary and athletic secondary stance. He shows a big target, works behind balls in the zone, and works under low pitches. He has a clean exchange, a short arm action, and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing to the bases. He does a solid job of leading with his glove, and controlling balls in the dirt when blocking. Increasing hip mobility and overall strength will elevate his game to the next level. Lex will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

02/24/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Pitching & Catching Weekend (Ages 12-14) Lex is a hard working and talented 2023 Catching prospect that made several adjustments during the pitching and catching accelerated training weekend. Behind the dish, Lex has an athletic primary and secondary. He presents a low target and works behind the ball. Continuing to work on landing on his shin guard and not his knees when blocking will allow him to be in a solid position to control the ball with his chest. He has a clean exchange and creates momentum in his lower half to throw. Lex will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Lex continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone through the receiving process. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner to improve grade. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/28/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Murfreesboro (Nashville), TN Lex is a solid 2-way player who continues to progress. Behind the plate, he has natural instincts with quiet/athletic actions. He moves well laterally and centers pitches in the dirt off of his chest. He works in-line with his throws being accurately on the bag. He has a ton of upside. In the OF, he hustles to track down fly-balls and covers ground to his right and left. Exchange is clean as he gains ground toward his target. As a hitter, Lex displays an athletic setup with a solid base. He connects, extends through and drives the ball with some pop. Falsone is a talented 2-way prospect who has a very bright future ahead of him.

11/17/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Lex is a young C who will graduate in 2023. Behind the plate, Lex uses his feet efficiently and centers when blocking balls in the dirt. He presents a low target with his hands out front to receive the ball. He has a clean exchange to throw with a short arm action from a high 3/4 angle. He is consistent with his throws down to 2B, keeping them on-line to his target. Lex can improve defensively by quickening his exchange to throw. At the plate, Lex sets up in a square, athletic stance from the right side. He gets back into his load and comes through the zone well with his lower half. He takes a direct route to the ball with fast bat speed, leading to hard contact and gap to gap power. Lex can improve as a hitter by setting his hands better in his load. Mental makeup is a plus as Lex displayed a great attitude and was a great teammate during the event. Overall, Lex is a solid, young prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills.

08/21/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Lex is a C/OF who will graduate in 2023. Behind the plate, Lex tracks the ball well into his glove and has a clean exchange to throw. He has a long arm action from a 3/4 arm slot and keeps his throws accurate an online to his target. In the OF, Lex comes in on the ball well and fields in a square position. He has a loose arm action from over top and keeps his throws accurate and on line to his target. In the box, Lex sets up in a square, athletic stance and takes his stride on time to meet the ball. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through the zone well with his lower half. He takes a direct, on plane path to the ball which leads to square contact. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
