08/10/2024 - Baseball Factory Prospect Combine Lex is a 2030 3B/RHP prospect from Clarksburg, MD who showcased his skills at the BF prospect camp. He closes distance on batted balls and has quick feet. Shows ability to pick out hops and fields out front. Creates momentum to his target and keeps his feet active with the ability to throw from multiple arm slots. His throws were accurate with an arm velocity up to 71mph. He is a switch hitter who starts with an athletic and open stance. Does a good job of staying in his legs and made consistent contact to all fields. Has a tendency to get on his heels at the plate and becomes impatient from the left side. On the mound he works fast and throws strikes with both his fastball and curveball. He faced five batters and struck out one and didn't allow a hit. Lex is a young and developing player who plays with good energy. We look forward to seeing him at another event soon.

11/12/2023 - National Showcase - Marlborough (Boston), MA Lex is a gifted and talented switch-hitting SS/RHP in the 20230 class. In the field, he works with great tempo and displays smooth actions. Gains a low and athletic fielding position and a quiet glove. Likes to work through the baseball and obtains a loose arm slot. Arm plays at 68 and is accurate to his targets. On the mound, he pounds the zone and creates athletic movements on the rubber. His delivery is easy and repeatable. His FB touched 63 with run. His CB shaped 10-4 with tilt at 53-4. His CH has a natural feel at 56-7. In the box, he shows solid actions from both sides. He creates a comfortable base and his barrel is on-plane. Looks to create line drive actions and working to use his lower half as he matures will add additional power for either side. Overall, scouts love the starting points of Lex’s game and feel he is on the right path to having an excellent career. They are eager to witness his development at future BF events.

11/03/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex Lex is a SS/RHP in the 2030 class. In the field, his feet are fluid and shows agile movements in the field. Fields the baseball in an athletic position and shows strong glove presentation. His hands and exchanges are clean. Releases from a loose high ¾ arm slot with feeds that are accurate an on-line to the target. Working through the ball will assist with his carry on the throws. On the mound, he shows poise and is highly projectable. His FB topped 60 with feel for the zone. His CB sat 50-52 with 12-6 shape. Demonstrates the ability to become a complete pitcher. At the plate, he has solid barrel control and uses the whole field. Displays a line drive approach and has sneaky power for his age. Overall, Lex has the making of becoming a player to watch as he grows in the game.

07/27/2022 - All-In Membership - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Lex is a switch hitting SS/RHP in the 2030 class. In the field, he has active feet and gains ground well. He squares his body to the baseball and has pocket feel. He plays low to the ground and his transfers are clean. Uses short arm action from a high 3/4 release. On the mound, he has a solid delivery and clean and repeatable actions. His eyes stay on the target to produce accurate strikes. His FB topped at 62 with tailing action. His CB sat 52-3 with 11/5 shape. His CH has great feel and sat 51-4. At the plate, he displays solid rhythm from both sides. Had excellent hand eye coordination and uses a direct barrel path. Has line drive production from both sides. Overall, he is just scratching the surface of great potential.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
