01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Lexus is a talented athlete who can make things happen in many aspects of the game. In the OF, he tracks down fly-balls in the gaps with speed. He works through the ball aggressively, gains ground and fires strong/accurate throws into his target. With the bat, this righty stands in well waiting for his pitch. Hands are quick as he looks to drive the middle of the field. The ball jumps off of his barrel when centered (exit velocity = 90 mph). On the mound, Crisler attacks hitters and challenges them to swing the bat. He works the ball in and out of the zone and throws strikes with all 3 pitches. He works quickly and doesn't give hitters and chance to get settled in. FB remains in the mid 80's while showing slight cut. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with good action. Lexus possesses the tools that will translate well into the next level.

04/26/2015 - National Tryout - Grand Rapids, MI Crisler showed as a SS and on the mound for the first time and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond positions. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.01. He utilizes his quick feet well in his lateral movement, covering a lot of ground, displaying range. Hands are soft / clean and presents well out front. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Arm strength has really improved as he topped out at 93 mph at the arm strength station. Throws displays life and on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, hitting grade has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball and utilizes all fields. Power numbers will continue to increase as he works to use his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 87 mph. Fastball showed a range of 80-87 mph with arm side run. Off stuff has improved, now showing as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a plus feel for with arm side run. Command / control are outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both side of the plate. Lexus has the makings of a special type player that will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

06/22/2012 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Lexus is a right-handed outfielder and spends some time on the mound as well. In the outfield there's natural pre-pitch action and works around the ball well, allowing Lexus the play through the ball. Lexus' defensive abilities should continue to develop as Lexus learns to field ground balls out in front. At the plate Lexus has a balanced setup and hits behind the ball well, helping to drive through contact with the lower half. Lexus' tools at the plate should continue to improve as Lexus learns to get the front foot down early to help maintain a quiet head throughout the swing. As a 2015 graduate Lexus has the opportunity to continue to develop as a complete player as he continues to prepare for the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
