11/08/2024 - Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training (MS) Logan is a talented shortstop and right-handed pitcher from Pennsylvania who made significant strides at the Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training in Arizona. On the field, he demonstrates great instincts and reads off the bat well, working from right to left with soft hands and a quick exchange. His accurate throws from a high three-quarter arm slot showcase his strong defensive skills, though his arm strength will naturally improve as he continues to grow. On the mound, Logan starts with a square position on the rubber and uses a simple rocker step, displaying good poise and composure. He attacks hitters effectively with his fastball but will need to add a second pitch as he matures. As a right-handed hitter, Logan has excellent on-time rhythm and the ability to deliver the barrel on plane, allowing him to use the whole field with consistency. His competitive nature, coupled with his advanced baseball actions, gives him a strong foundation to continue improving. Logan’s work ethic and natural talent suggest he will only get better as he grows, and he has a bright future ahead in the game.

08/29/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Baltimore, MD Logan Harfst is a SS/2B that recently played at the All-Ripken Games. On the mound his fastball was clocked at 54 mph. He was able to compliment that with a 46 mile per hour breaking ball. He was able to pitch ahead of most of the batters he faced due to the fact that he could throw his secondary pitches for strikes. It was evident that he had a really good feel for how to pitch. Defensively he proved to be extremely athletic and had phenomenal hands. He complimented those skills with a strong and accurate arm. At the plate he was a hitting machine as he was able to collect multiple base hits and that was highlighted by two doubles and a triple. What he lacks in size he definitely makes up for with talent a high IQ an ultimate athleticism. Bottom line this kid is a great ballplayer.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
