02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) This is our third time seeing 2022 grad Hokuf, but the first time in a competitive environment. He's turning into a big-arm player hitting 87mph on flat and sitting comfortably 83-85mph off the bump with his fastball. On the mound, he shows excellent poise and battles not giving an inch against solid hitting. He has swing-and-miss off-speed stuff. Although he's shaved down his 60 yard dash 1/3rd of a second in the last few months, he needs to continue to make getting faster a focus if he wants to stay in the middle-infield. His hands and feet work well together and he showed off that big arm many times. At the plate, he always seems to have a plan. Strike zone awareness is a plus. Overall, Hokuf is a gritty ball-player with a huge upside.

08/10/2020 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Logan is a talented/projectable (6'0"/170) 2-way player as a SS/RHP. With the bat, this RHH shows an open stance with rhythm to load. Loose/quick hands whip the barrel with + speed as he connects and drives the ball with some pop (exit velocity = 84 mph). At SS, he has active footwork working into an athletic/low fielding position. He gathers well with a clean transfer to throw, firing the ball accurately with zip (86 mph) across the diamond. On the bump, Logan has a 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and drives downhill, in-line toward the plate. FB ranges from 80-82 mph while showing arm-side run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with good action. Changeup shows to be his best pitch as it has run & sink and will be a solid 'K' pitch. Hokuf is a skilled 2022 grad who is one to keep an eye on as he enters his junior year.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
