09/28/2014 - College PREP - Conway (Little Rock), AR Logan is an athletic SS/RHP that will graduate in 2016. Defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth/clean actions. Feet are active/aggressive as he moves well laterally and works to square balls up, displaying soft/sure hands. He works around and plays through the ball well with his body. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond as he gets rid of the baseball quickly, displaying solid arm strength. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides through an athletic/squared approach. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and makes consistent contact through a solid line drive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus as baseball jumps off the bat when centered with power numbers increasing as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break and sharp action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. With 2 years to further develop, Logan the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
