Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/3BPosition Projection

01/08/2023 - National Showcase - San Antonio, TX Logan is a RHP/3B prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing player with strength present and room to add throughout. At 3B, he works to center the baseball and showed ability to make routine plays. He plays with good effort and showed willingness to dive/layout for batted balls. Has a long arm stroke in back as he throws from a 3/4 arm slot coming forward with an arm velocity up to 63mph. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. A quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. He showed ability to deliver the barrel, with intent in swing, and has a high finish. During his round of BP, he hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development until he graduates, we foresee Logan making huge strides on the baseball field.

11/03/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex Logan is a big and strong 3B/RHP in the 2027 class. His arm strength is solid with a 70 raw velo. He uses loose arm action from a high ¾ slot. His feeds are on-line and consistently accurate to his targets. Make the routine play look easy and with additional footwork and speed he can increase his range. At the plate, begins in a tall set up and open stance. Triggers with a knocking knee stride and gains separation. Uses a solid path to the baseball. Shows strength at contact and can have power potential. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix. His FB topped at 62 with some movement. His CB sat 52-3 with 11-5 shape. His split sat 53-4. Overall, Logan has a projectable frame and with further development, he can blossom into a fine player.

03/27/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Bronx, NY Logan is an athletic 3B/1B who will graduate in 2027. At 3B, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he creates good angles and works to square balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 5 years to further develop, Logan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
