Official Scouting Report

  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

02/25/2023 - National Showcase - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Logan is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. Ran his 60-yard dash in 7 seconds. In the OF, showed active feet and ability to cover ground in all directions. Aggressive routes enable him to create good fielding angles as he works through the ball. Showed ability to flip his hips and go get balls. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with on-line throws into infield at 84mph. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher has a good rear hip coil and keeps his eyes on target. He gathers over rubber and rotates to target. Attacks hitters with his FB that sits 77-80mph with plus command. Mixed in a 10/4 shaped breaking ball with good depth, a slider he throws from the same window at CB, and a developing changeup. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and square stance. Starts with a square glide step and is centered at contact. Showed quick hands and a fast barrel through the hitting zone. Hit line drives consistently with a bat exit velocity up to 84mph during BP. As he continues to develop and mature, we foresee Logan making huge strides on the baseball field.

09/21/2022 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2024) Logan continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities at the Arizona Jr Fall Classic. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate he continues shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/29/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - York, PA Logan is a OF/RHP in the class of 2024 out of Lancaster, PA. In the outfield, he does a good job of attacking the ground ball with momentum to set up his arm on the run through ball. He makes all the routine plays in the outfield while trying to work behind the fly ball to set up his arm to make the next play. His throws were on target to the cut offs. At the plate, he uses a tall stance with a square stride to work to a balanced hitting position. From there, he deliver the barrel to the pitch with conviction. He works the ball to the pull side but could benefit from staying through the pitch to work more of the middle of the field and create better spin on the ball. On the mound, he had a clean arm action while showing rhythm in his delivery. He works a 4 pitch mix of a fastball (79 mph), two breaking balls (curve & slider), and a change up with a loose arm action. He was around the plate with all of his 4 pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Logan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
