04/30/2017 - College PREP - Charlottesville, VA Logan is a tall, athletic C/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through a squared / balanced setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He makes consistent contact through a line drive swing path, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line to his target. Pop times showed in the 2.19 range with accuracy / carry to his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Hands are firm but needs to widen stance and present glove more out front to improve receiving grade. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to get down sooner and improve flexibility. At 2B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. With 3 years to further develop, Logan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
