07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Loreto is a young player who enjoys playing the game. In the infield, he has active footwork and decent hands, complemented by accurate throws thanks to his over the top throwing motion. He can work on his pre-pitch movement/footwork, fielding footwork and using two hands to field the ball. In the outfield, he is thinking ahead and always seems to know where to go with the throw. He does a good job of hitting the cutoff man and being aggressive to the ball. He can work on always getting behind the ball so that he can play through it and get more life/carry on his throws. At the plate, he does a good job of consistently putting the barrel on the ball and putting it in play thanks to his balance and level bat path. He can work on stepping straight towards the pitcher and letting the ball travel, which will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Overall, Loreto is continuing to improve. He is a great team player and always making sure everyone is having a good time.

01/21/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Loreto is a young, 2-way player with a thin frame. At 2nd base, Loreto has sure hands, active feet, and he has range to the glove side. He has a quick / clean exchange, and he throws with a quick / short arm action with accuracy to his target. In the OF, Loreto is aggressive to the ball, he takes good angles, and he uses 2 hands. He gets rid of the ball well and throws with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Loreto has a square set-up, good balance, and average bat speed. He makes square contact, has a line drive swing, and he keeps his head on the ball. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
