01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Louie continues to show as show as a prospect at the Preseason Rookie All American showcase. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He starts in an athletic ready position and fields in a square position. Glove action is sure and present well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, he shows a 2-pitch mix, keeping hitters guessing. Fastball shows a range of 75-77 mph on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. He shows a good mound presence and is composed on the mound. With 3 years to further develop, Louie has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.
10/11/2023 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2027)
Louie performed well in AZ at the Freshman Fall Classic. Still only 14 years old, he shows a very strong arm - Fastball topped at 76 mph, and he also mixes his pitches well. Fastball shows good movement. He is poised on the mound and aggressive when he needs to be. He is balanced in his delivery and in line to his catcher. There is a lot of potential here on the mound as he continues to mature. Louie also is showing some noticeable improvements in his athletic indicators. 60 yard dash time down to 7.21 seconds and additional measurables we look at centered on speed, jumping, and lateral movement also all improved. At the plate, Louie has a comfortable set up, a good load, and a controlled and direct stride. His lower half works and he swings on a level path. Defensively, he has very soft hands and shows athleticism at SS. Throws are accurate and have carry as well. Louie continues to show as a very good prospect with a high ceiling as a possible two way player.
03/19/2023 - National Showcase - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC
Louie continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and play through with his body. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 70-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.
12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic
Louie is a class of 2027 SS/RHP prospect. On the mound, he works with simple mechanics. Showed good mound presence. Fastball worked up to 73 MPH. Also showed a breaking ball with 11-5 shape. Showed a changeup with some arm side run. In the field, he showed active feet and the ability to work downhill. Showed quick and clean exchanges and an accurate arm. At the plate, he showed a quiet and simple swing. Drove the ball to the middle of the field. Got into a good launch position by getting his knob to the catcher. Louie is a talented player with a bright future.
2022 Academic All-American Tournament (MS)
Louie is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who showed well during the Academic All-American Tournament. In the field, Louie shows fluid footwork and creates good angles. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid to load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, driving the ball to all fields. On the mound, Louie gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He extends through his release and pitches to both side of the plate well. Louie operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph. Breaking ball sits at 63mph with good movement. Changeup sits at 67mph. Overall, Louie is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his strong foundation.
12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic
Louie is a coachable SS/RHP in the class of 2027 out of North Carolina. At SS, he showed the ability to get into a good fielding position on time with the hops and have sure hands to catch the baseball. He tried to work through the baseball to set up his throws which were on target. Offensively, he had a tall stance to help him stride and get his lower half through his swing. He worked on plane with the baseball with good bat speed and made consistent contact with a line drive approach. On the rubber, he had simple mechanics and worked with a good tempo to try and work ahead of hitters. He threw a fastball which topped out at 66 mph and a breaking ball that had an 11/5 action and ranged from 48-51 mph. Louie could benefit from programs/drills such as long toss, arm path drills, one hand ground ball drills, strength training, speed & agility.
08/15/2021 - All-In Membership - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC
Louie is a lean RHP/SS who will graduate in 2027. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 61-62 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Slider is harder with tight spin and short break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active in working around and playing through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. With 6 years to further develop, Louie has potential with time and room to progress his game.
