07/20/2010 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Louis is a young OF with an athletic, lanky frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature, filling out. His feet are active and aggressive in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls in the OF, displaying range. He reads balls well off the bat showing solid instincts and a feel for his position but will benefit by working to get behind fly balls more and playing through with momentum towards his target. Throws shows carry and accuracy through a quick arm action. Offensively, Turro shows a balanced approach as he loads his hands well, transferring weight through his lower half in his swing. Swing path is level showing leverage in his swing to the pull side as he flashes quick hands. With 2 years to further develop, Louis has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
