11/03/2024 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Lucas is an impressive sophomore at Rock Hill High School in Texas, he has all the tools to be a standout at the next level. At shortstop, he shows exceptional athleticism and body control, with excellent footwork that allows him to field from a low position with soft hands. His quick, active feet and arm strength—reaching up to 85 mph across the diamond—make him a dynamic presence defensively. At the plate, he’s a left-handed hitter with a smooth swing, beginning from a tall, open stance and utilizing a direct barrel path, quick hands, and fast barrel speed to generate consistent contact. On the mound, he demonstrates strong fundamentals, with a simple yet effective delivery that keeps his eyes on target and his chest in line with the glove. His fastball works well at the bottom of the zone, complemented by a sharp curveball and a reliable changeup. With his athleticism, skill set, and room for growth, Lucas has plenty of time to continue developing into a well-rounded player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
