07/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Lucas is a C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. Tall frame, with long levers, and athletic build with strength present. Ran a 7.2 60-yard dash. Behind the dish he has active/efficient feet, with athletic actions, and makes it look effortless. An ability to stick balls with a loud mitt. Good lateral movement, with good blocking angles, and a soft chest. Rolls shoulders and blocks the 5-hole. He works thumb under, with a clean exchange, into a high 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base. Arm velocity was 87mph and his best pop time was 2.05 seconds. On the mound, has long levers and projectible frame as he picks up target early and showed ability to repeat his delivery. Lands square to plate, with a good frontside, and gets good extension out front. Throws a FB that topped out at 79mph with some tailing movement, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball and slider with good arm speed. 4th pitch was a changeup he throws with FB arm speed and good sink through strike zone. CH was his best pitch during bullpen session. A right-handed hitter, he hits from a tall and open stance. Short/square stride, with good hand separation, and keeps inside the baseball. Made square contact, with a short barrel path, and gets extended through the baseball. Hit line drives into both gaps with a bat a bat exit of 84mph during BP. With continued development, this 2-way prospect should have opportunities to play at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
