11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Lucas is an OF/1B in the class of 2028 out of California. In the outfield, he displayed good actions with the ability to create good angles and work behind the baseball and get directional for his throws towards his target. At the plate, he uses a square stance with a controlled load to keep a quiet head and make hard contact to all fields. Lucas could benefit from a speed & agility/long toss program but overall is a very fundamentally sound player who will continue to improve with time.

08/03/2021 - All-In Membership - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Lucas is a young (2028 grad) 2-way player as an OF/1B. With the bat is where he excels. Gets into an athletic stance with fluid rhythm and active hands ready to jump on pitches he likes. Swing is quick/level to and through the zone as he barrels the ball up and drives it on a line. At 1B, he has active prep and moves well right and left. He gets into a square/athletic fielding position and tracks the GB's into a soft mitt. In the OF, he takes a quick first step with solid routes to track down fly-balls. He secures the ball, gathers well and has a clean transfer to throw. Lucas has a solid all-around skill-set with still a ton of time to develop and get stronger.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
