01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Lucas is a 2024 C prospect who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American Tournament. Behind the dish, he showed an easy sit, with active feet, and showed good body sway. Works with good direction towards second base as he replaces his feet and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Tries to work his thumb under the baseball with a good elbow hinge. Made accurate and on-line throws, with good carry, and a best pop time of 2.02 seconds. Showed good spine angle on his blocks with his chin tucked. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Has intent in swing, with activated hands, and showed a fast barrel thru the hitting zone. He gets on-plane early as he hit hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 91mph. In live game action, Lucas reached base 3 times with 2 singles and a walk. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this C prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
