12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Lucas is a 2025 3B/RHP that showed his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. At 3B, he starts in an athletic position and has active feet. He showcased a good pre-pitch step and was agile to both sides of his body. He has a low-athletic fielding position with hands in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and throws from a high ¾ arm slot. His raw arm velocity was 84 mph. At the plate, he starts in a square stance with loose hands. He has a small load and a short stride towards the pitcher. He made consistent contact during batting practice. On the mound, he showcased a solid 3-pitch mix. He had a fastball that was 80-81 mph and was able to keep below hitters bats. His breaking ball showed some big depth and was able to work well in all counts. He has good balance over the rubber and a keeps his shoulders in line with his target. In his 3 innings of work he showed great feel for the position and didn’t allow a single run with 4 strikeouts. We foresee that Lucas will continue to excel on the baseball field.

04/30/2023 - National Showcase - Fairfield (Sacramento), CA Lucas is a talented 3B/RHP in the 2025 class. In the field, he has quick feet and agile movements. Gains a low fielding position and reads hops well. His pocket has feel and his hands work well with his feet. His exchanges are quick and he separates in the middle of his body to gain his natural arm slot. Shows athletic ability by using numerous arm angles based upon his defensive zone. Arm plays at 83 and is accurate. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and uses a short stride. Weight stays inside his feet and uses his hips correctly to generate power. Shows a line drive approach with fast (84 exit velo) hands. On the mound, he has a compact delivery with a ¾ arm slot. His FB sat 78-80 with tailing actions in the zone. His CB has 11-5 shape with late break at 66-8. His CH has deception at 71-2 with run. Overall, Lucas is a strong prospect in the 2025 class.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
