07/19/2021 - All-In Membership - Atchinson, KS Lucas is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Lucas shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and works through a direct swing, producing strong line drives. On the mound, Lucas gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works inline toward the plate and extends through his release, finishing with his chest square to his target. Lucas operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph. Breaking ball sits from 62-65mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 69-72mph. Overall, Lucas is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
