05/14/2017 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Luke is an intriguing prospect with a solid frame. As a Catcher, Luke has good direction with his feet when throwing to bases, he has a clean exchange, and makes accurate throws. If he continues to work on getting his legs down faster to block, creating better angles when blocking to keep the ball in front of his body, present a low/early target when receiving, and be in a more athletic/balanced stance, he will improve his ability behind the plate. At the plate, Luke is in a balanced stance, has good tempo, and tracks the ball well recognizing balls and strikes. If he continues to load his hands into the drive position, get set on time, attack the inside part of the ball, and use his lower half, he will have success make consistent hard contact.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
