10/09/2024 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2028) Luke Lowe is a versatile and competitive prospect who showed a lot of promise both defensively and offensively at the Arizona Freshman Fall Classic. Defensively, Luke has a strong baseball IQ and excels at positioning, always knowing where to play to maximize his chances of making the play. While his arm strength could use some development, his overall defensive instincts and ability to read hitters and situations make him a reliable presence in the infield. As he continues to build arm strength, his range and overall defensive game will improve. On the mound, Luke’s fastball was clocked at 73 MPH, and his curveball and changeup came in at 62 MPH and 63 MPH, respectively. He shows good command of his pitches, but continued work on improving both velocity and pitch location will help him become more consistent and effective against higher competition. His ability to mix speeds and attack the zone is a promising sign for his future as a pitcher. At the plate, Luke has a really good setup and demonstrates excellent timing, which allows him to make consistent contact. He has a solid understanding of the strike zone, as evidenced by his ability to draw two walks. Luke also drove in two RBIs with a single, showcasing his ability to come through in clutch situations and help his team offensively. Overall, Luke Lowe is a well-rounded prospect with a bright future ahead. His defensive instincts, pitching potential, and ability to contribute offensively make him a valuable asset. With continued focus on improving arm strength and developing his pitching velocity, Luke has the potential to become a strong contributor both in the field and on the mound.

07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC Luke is a hard-working SS in the 2029 class. He recently impressed scouts with his game at the National World Series. Scouts described Luke as a “extremely positive player who shows great body language. He hustles on every play and wants the ball” On the dirt, he works to create angles to square his body to the ball. Footwork is solid and uses a low 3 qtr. slot to make his throws. At the plate, he used the whole field and collected a 2B and a BB in 7 PA. He is a high contact rate hitter and can generate line drives. Learning to hit the outside pitch will be a key point as he matures as a hitter. Overall, Luke is a fine player and the future is bright.

01/27/2024 - National Showcase - Bothell (Seattle), WA Luke is a 2029 SS/RHP prospect from Oak Harbor, WA. At short, he shows off active footwork pre-pitch and makes agile movements to all sides. He works hard to get in an athletic fielding position and shows off a solid backhand. He has a quick exchange and makes accurate throws from a 3/4 slot with a quick release. He puts himself in a good position to make plays. At the plate, he starts in a tall stance and has an on-time stride with a good load back. He has a line drive approach and works hard to hit the ball in the middle of the field. He makes hard, consistent contact and gets good backspin on the baseball. He does a nice job of finishing strong with his hips and had a solid 74 MPH exit velo. On the bump, he throws from a high 3/4 slot and features a 3-pitch mix. He gathers his balance over the rubber and gets on-time separation. He stays squared to the plate when driving to the plate and has a controlled landing. He shows good feel for the position and good tools. He flashes some arm-side run with his FB and solid velo when his delivery is relaxed. His CB has gradual break and he does a nice job of throwing his CH with FB arm speed. Overall, Luke is an impressive prospect for his grade and one we are excited to see more of as he continues to develop!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
