06/17/2010 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 1 Luke is a strong, stocky, 2nd baseman that will graduate in 2011. Defensively, Luke has soft hands, he makes routine plays, and he stays down on the ball. He attacks slow rollers, he can make plays on the run, and he gets on top of his throws. Better lateral movements and improved athleticism will help already solid numbers become even better. Offensively, Luke has a short stroke to contact, and he consistently makes contact. He has good pitch selection and he uses the middle of the field. Hitting can improve with a better load and by getting his foot down sooner.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
