08/04/2010 - College Prep Super Regional - Middletown, CT - AM Mac is a young, lean, OF that will graduate in 2013. Defensively, Mac has average hands and feet, and he works to get behind the ball well. He approaches the ball aggressively, fields on the glove side, and he gets good momentum toward his target. If Mac can use 2 hands, get on top of the baseball, and add arm strength, we could see a spike in defensive grades. At the plate, Mac is an aggressive hitter with good balance and barrel accuracy. He has a good load, level swing, and has some pull side pop in his bat. Hitting can improve if Max can relax his muscles and use more lower 1/2.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
