02/20/2022 - All-In Membership - Atlanta, GA Maddox is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. Medium frame lean build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 1B, he tries to create good fielding angles as he works to center the baseball. Has a long arm stroke as works into a high 3/4 arm slot coming forward. He made accurate/on-line throws to second base with an arm velocity up to 74mph. On the mound, he separates his hands on-time, with a clean arm stroke, and gets his chest over his front knee. He showed good command on all 3 of his pitches with ability to throw them from the same window. He throws a FB that sits 72-73mph with good sink, a breaking ball with 10/4 shape, and a changeup with sinking action that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he starts with an upright and square stance. Has smooth timing to swing, with a level barrel through hitting zone, and ability to hit balls to all fields. A short/direct barrel path enables him to hit line drives consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
