12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Manuel is a 2025 1B who showcased his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. At 1B, he starts from an athletic position with effective feet. He fields from an athletic position, has hands out front, and a clean exchange. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and a 73 mph top velocity. Manuel also showed his ability to play multiple spots in the outfield in game. At the plate, he has a athletic stance, has loose hands, and a simple load. He has a good rhythm, a strong lower 1/2, and consistently hard contact. Manuel also showcased some strength in the game with a double and a grip strength of 149. With a few years of continued work we foresee that Manuel will continue perform on the baseball field.

08/01/2023 - National Showcase - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Manuel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 1B, defensive abilities are now solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. At the plate, power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. Around the bag, scouts like his athletic ability to sink his hips and ability to protect the baseball. Provides an exception target for his defenders and feet work well around the bag. Uses an over-the-top release and is accurate on his feeds. He can field out in front more to adjust to hops and increase his pocket awareness. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix. He stays directional and works down the mound well. His FB topped at 71 and stays in the zone with frequency. His breaking pitch has swing and miss feel and sat 56-8. His CH displayed FB arm speed and sat 63-5. At the plate, he shows good rhythm and can square the back of the ball (80 exit velo). He is short to the ball and has a strong base. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
