01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Marcel is a solid 2021 catcher that attended the HS Preseason All-American. Behind the plate, Marcel works hard tracking the pitch all the way in presenting a low and firm target. As he throws to 2B, he makes quick and clean exchanges getting rid of the ball with a short arm action with a 2.15 pop time. Blocking, he shows agile range in both directions keeping the ball in front of his body. Hitting, Marcel shows fluid rhythm and timing keeping good balance as he fires his lower half. He gets the barrel on plane with the pitch making consistent contact with plus pop to the pull side. Marcel showed to be a reliable defender behind the plate that can also drive some production at the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
