12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory West Coast Holiday Classic (HS) Marco is a 2025 catcher from San Jacinto, CA, with a tall frame and athletic build. He worked hard to hone his skills at the Baseball Factory West Coast Holiday Camp. Behind the plate, he works with solid fundamentals, showing thumb under-the-ball action, good pocket awareness, and a loud mitt. He has a quick transfer and recorded a best pop time of 2.38 seconds, with accurate throws to the bag. His footwork is efficient on blocks, and he maintains a strong spine angle while centering the baseball. As a right-handed hitter, Marco activates his hands well with a square glide step, keeps his weight balanced, and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. He made consistent contact during the games, with an exit velocity up to 83 mph and flashed power to the pull side. As a senior, Marco has another season to further develop his game and add to his tall, athletic frame.

02/20/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Marco showed some improvements in his game during his last workout with The Factory. He ran his best 60 to date, lowered pop times, and showed well offensively. At 1st base, Marco has a presentable glove, he covers some ground, and he stays low. He moves well around the bag, fields cleanly, and throws with a high 3/4 arm slot to his target. Behind the plate, Marco sits in well, he tracks to his glove, and works hard to block. He repeats his actions well, and lowered pop times to 2.58 seconds. Work on set-up, balance, and release will help improve catching skills. At the plate, Marco has an open stance, good bat speed, and strength to the pull side. He work the middle of the field and uses some lower body.

12/12/2021 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Marco is a C/1B in the class of 2025 out of California. At C, he does a good job of receiving by presenting glove early and sticking pitches in the zone by working under/around the baseball. When throwing down, he showed the ability to gain ground towards his target in a straight line while making accurate throws. When blocking, he did a good job getting his glove down early to attack baseball and keep it in front. At 1B, he had efficient footwork with a good first step to create angles to make the routine play consistently. At the plate, he uses an open stance to work back to find balance and try to utilize the middle of the field with his approach. With 2+ years of development we believe Marco's game will continue to improve to prepare him to be a player to watch out for.

06/25/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (MS) Marco continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 3.00 range and will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and presents a soft mitt as he tracks the ball well. He utilizes his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner to center balls out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and has some strength in his swing as he stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

05/16/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Marco is a C/3B prospect who will graduate in 2025. Behind the dish, Marco is efficient moving to block and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He presents a good target to the pitcher and receives with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he makes consistent throws to the 2B bag. At 3B, Marco shows active footwork and gets into an athletic position. He fields the ball out in front with soft hands and has a clean exchange. He gains ground well on his throws and keeps them accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and produces solid line drives. Overall, Marco is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
