02/08/2009 - College PREP - Houston, TX Marco is a two way player in the OF and on the mound as a LHP with a tall, thin frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature and fill out. He projects well at both positions. Foot speed is average and needs to get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls but needs to work on better routes and angles to get behind the baseball. Defensive abilities are solid average. Arm strength is near above average displaying life, carry, and accuracy with his feet staying through the throw. He would benefit from a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength and raise velocities. At the plate, Uribe has solid average ability with above average power. He has rhythm and tracks the baseball well. Swing path is long allowing the barrel to get out around the baseball, creating a pull type swing. He has juice to the pull side as he left the yard. On the mound, fastball has arm side run, topping out at 87 mph. Breaking ball is his best off speed pitch showing solid average ability while displaying a 12/6 shape with tight spin. Changeup is average and needs more work to be a quality pitch at the next level. Marco has the makings to be a solid player at the collegiate level, possibly a two way player.
