04/14/2013 - College PREP - Albuquerque, NM Nava has a tall, thin build at 6-0 and 127 pounds. He topped at 71 with his fastball, and also threw a split finger pitch with the makings of some tumble action that can develop as he adds strength and velocity. He was around the plate with both pitches, thanks to a smooth and repeatable delivery. Hands broke on time to allow arm time to work, though it was a little short from the glove. Arm worked loose out front, and direction with shoulders was good. Tended to land a little closed, and finish was a little upright - can clean these items up, and can work on getting more pull and tuck from glove side. There is more velocity for him to grab out front as he physically matures and improves this part of his delivery. At the plate, he hit from a square setup. Didn't have much of a trigger, and tended to hang on his back leg. Bat dragged through with length, resulting in top hand swing and pull contact. Projectable on the mound, keep an eye on him there.
