01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Mario is a lean and athletic 5ft 8/155 SS/RHP in the 2025 class. He recently performed well at the BF Preseason All American event. Defensively, he showed a solid ready position and pre-pitch movements. His feet are quick (7.28 runner) and he creates agile movements to the baseball. Play under the baseball and his hands are soft. Redirects with clean actions and his release is quick. Working to throw the top of the baseball will allow for further carry and improve his 12-6 spin. On the mound, he works downhill with easy actions. Maintains great balance and has a strong front side. He operates with a 2-pitch mix from a 3 qtr. slot. His FB sits 74-6 and works both sides of the plate. His Breaking pitch shaped 11-5 and was in the zone at 64-6. At the plate, he uses an open stance and gains a squared stride. He works to keep his hands inside the baseball and creates a short barrel path. Demonstrates a line drive swing and with added strength, he can backspin ball to the alleys. Overall solid two way player in the 2025 class.

10/18/2023 - Arizona Easton Fall Classic Mario continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Arizona Easton Fall Classic. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Throws are accurate with carry (86mph velocity) to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/17/2023 - National Showcase - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Mario continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. At SS, defensive abilities are now well above average as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are clean and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (86 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound.

01/16/2023 - National Showcase - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Mario continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.13 runner. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body, gaining ground. Hands are clean and presents out front. He utilizes his outstanding foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/20/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at JRTC - Session 1 Mario is a 2025 SS who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament. At SS, he showed good range, with athletic actions, and showed good body control at baseball. He worked to center the baseball and fields from a low fielding position with soft hands out front. He made accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot to first base with an arm velocity up to 82mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance with high hands. He hits into a firm frontside and is centered at contact. A flat barrel path enables him to hit balls to all fields with a with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph during BP. During the games, he proved to be a tough out as he reached base 4 times with a double, a single, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. Mario is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

09/25/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Mario is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. In the field, Mario shows efficient footwork and creates good angles. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he makes on-line throws to his target. Long tossing can help Mario build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and works to barrel up the baseball, producing solid contact. Mario can barrel up more baseballs by working through a shorter swing path. Overall, Mario is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
