12/20/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at JRTC - Session 1 Mark is a 2024 2B who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament. At 2B, he showed good range, with smooth footwork, and has athletic actions. He worked to center the baseball and fields from an athletic/square fielding position with a low funnel. He fields out front and creates momentum to his target. Made accurate throws to first base from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 82mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance with high hands. He has a compact swing with a high finish. Hits into a firm frontside and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. He hit balls consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 83mph during BP. During the games, he proved to be a tough out as he reached base 5 times with a triple, a double, and 3 singles. Mark is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy- Session 1 (HS) Mark Anthony is an athletic 2B in the 2024 class. Scouts love his make-up and his style of play. They describe him as an energy player who is in control of his actions. In the field, he has quick feet and aggressive attacks the baseball. Has a solid 1st step and plays low to the ground. Leads the heel of his glove well and separates in the middle of his body with clean actions. Has strong feel for his feeds and turns and has arm strength (81 velo). Working to turn his shoulders will improve his accuracy. At the plate, his is in control of his barrel and battles at the plate. He is relaxed in his set-up and his hands are loose. Stays centered in his balance and sees the ball well on both sies of the plate. Hit well in game action (3 hits, 1B,2B,HR) and played hard. Overall, there is a lot to like about his game and player to watch.

11/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sanford (Orlando), FL Mark is an athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter but projects slightly better as an LHH. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. With 3 years to further develop, Mark has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
