09/02/2022 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) with Video Showcase Mark continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the All-Region tournament. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ball but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are loose and works through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

08/13/2021 - Baseball Factory Summer Classic Mark continues to shine on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter from both sides. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a rage of 63-64 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/22/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (MS) Mark is a 2025 SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Mark starts on the balls of his feet and showed an accurate arm. Showed ability to make adjustments. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity of 75mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Takes a short/square stride, with knob to C, and rotates lower half to contact point. Hit line drives consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 68mph during BP. Reached bases 3 times with a single and 2 base on balls in live game action. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber, with good balance, and separates his hands on time. He gets his chest over his front knee and is a strike thrower. Throws a FB that sits 64-65mph and a 10/4 breaking ball with sweeping action. In 3 innings of work, he threw 64% of his pitches for strikes and struck out 5 hitters. With 4 more years to develop, Mark has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/11/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Davie, FL Mark is a young, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Mark has active feet, good pre-pitch actions, and his hands are firm. He fields in a square position, makes plays consistently, and throws with accuracy from a long arm action to his target. On the mound, Mark has a free arm circle, he keeps his eyes on target, and gets good extension on his pitches. At the plate, Mark is a switch hitter and is equally as good from both sides of the plate. From the right, he has good balance, a still head, and a simple swing plane. From the left side, Mark stands in athletically, he can hit to all fields, and he uses his lower body. Overall skills can get better if Mark can work on the following.

Infield
1. Release
2. Fielding position
3. Arm strength
Pitching
1. Direction
2. Arm strength
3. Off-speed
Offense

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
