09/20/2023 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2025) Mark continues to shine with his baseball abilities on the diamond at the Arizona JR Fall Classic. At 1B, he shows active footwork and presents his glove out front to field. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. He has a quick release and allows his throws to remain accurate through his target but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average through an athletic setup. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through the zone well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing to the ball with fast bat speed (83 mph exit velocity) which leads to hard contact. At the event, he was 4 for 10 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
