01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Mark is a C prospect who showed well during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. Behind the dish, Mark shows active footwork and centers the ball when blocking. He presents a good target to the pitcher and tracks the ball into his glove. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate/on-line throws to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through a tall setup. He leads with his lower half and extends through the ball well, producing strong contact. Overall, Mark is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Mark is a C prospect who showcased his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. Behind the dish, Mark sits in a square stance and receives with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws to the 2B bag. Increasing his lateral range to block can help Mark keep more dirt balls in front of him. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and gets into his load well. He uses his plus strength to barrel up the baseball and drive the ball with authority. Mark can create more consistent contact by remaining balanced in his stride. Overall, Mark is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/10/2021 - All-In Membership - Charlotte, NC Mark is a pure catch and throw backstop who also will make an impact with the bat. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm (86 mph velocity) with impressive pop times of 2.09. Offensively, he continues to shine with near pro level abilities with outstanding power potential. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (85 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off his barrel. With 2 years to further develop, Mark has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
