05/27/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Jupiter, FL Mark is a young catcher with a thin frame. Behind the plate, Mark has sure hands, active feet, and he fields in a square position. He tracks well, blocks aggressively, and throws with a long arm action with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Mark is a switch hitter who is better from the right side. He has a square set-up, good balance, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
