Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/3BPosition Projection

02/21/2022 - All-In Membership - Pittsburgh, PA Mark is a RHP/3B who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame lean build with some strength present and plenty of room and time to develop. At 3B, he works from right to left, with active footwork, and ability to throw on the run. Showed good feel for glove pocket and has a low funnel. Ability to throw from multiple arm angles with an arm velocity up to 74mph. Made accurate throws across diamond with a long arm stroke. On the mound, he picks up target early and takes the proper stride length. Showed good feel and plus command on all of his pitches. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 71-73mph with arm side run, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup with good depth that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Starts with a square stride while staying tall through contact and a good bat angle at contact. Ability to rotate hips to contact with some extension. A short barrel path enables him to hit line drives consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 87mph during BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Mark having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
