09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Marlon is an athletic/talented 2-way player (1B/RHP) who excels at the plate. Offensively, this strong RHH steps into the box with a purpose. He has smooth rhythm to load, whips the barrel with + speed and connects with pop, driving the ball from gap-to-gap. At 1B, he comes the get the GB and works into a square fielding position. Hands are presented out in front as tracks the ball into his mitt and gathers well. On the mound, this RHP throws a FB & CB from an over-the-top arm slot working downhill and pounding the zone with strikes. FB ranges from 77-79 mph as he works it to both sides of the dish. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with tight spin and good action, showing to be a solid 'K' pitch. This 2023 grad is a skilled prospect who has a ton of upside and bright future ahead of him in the game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
