09/19/2010 - College PREP - Santa Barbara, CA Marshall is a two-way player in the OF plus on the mound with an athletic looking frame that is well suited for both his positions. Currently, he projects best in the OF for the next level. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.38 60 time. Feet are active and aggressive in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls in the OF. He works to get behind, playing through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he will benefit by getting on a long toss program to further develop more arm strength. Offensively is where Siordia shows best through a balanced approach. He attacks the baseball with his hands, generating bat speed as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power potential is present as the baseball jumps off his bat when centered with grades improving as he learns to load more, transferring weight through the swing. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-79 mph with slight arm side run. Off speed pitches are average, needing further development to be quality pitches at the next level. Marshall has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
