12/27/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Pittsburgh, PA Mason continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has the makings of a special type player. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Receiving/blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.08 with accuracy/carry to his target. At SS, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and present well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter but projects best as a RHH. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.
