08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Mason is an athletically built OF who will graduate in 2019. In the OF, Mason has good pre-pitch actions, he attacks the ball aggressively, and he catches at its highest point. He has a long arm action and throws with consistency to his cut-off man. Abilities in the OF can improve if Mason can quicken his feet, work on his angles, and add arm strength. Offensively, Mason has an open stance, he loads properly, and has good balance. He makes consistent contact, has some bat speed, and can hit to all fields. If Mason can work on his balance, shorten his swing, and improve barrel accuracy, hitting grades will spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
