01/20/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Mason is a solid, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Mason presents his glove well, he has playable hands and feet, and he fields in a square position. He moves well around the bag, has a quick exchange, and throws with consistency from a short arm action. On the mound, Mason has good balance, a loose arm action, and he lands in a square position. Offensively, Mason has a tall set-up, a square load, and he swings in good rhythm. He has solid strength and a direct barrel through the ball. Mason can improve skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
