11/08/2024 - Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training (MS) Mason is a talented catcher and right-handed pitcher from Cincinnati, OH, in the graduating class of 2031, who made significant improvements at the Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training in Arizona. Behind the plate, he shows athletic actions and presents a good target for pitchers, with a loud mitt that provides strong feedback. He works hard to gain ground toward second base with a quick transfer, posting his best pop time at 3.2 seconds. Mason also works diligently to center the ball when blocking and tucks his chin to ensure proper form. While his arm strength will naturally improve as he grows, his solid fundamentals and work ethic provide a strong foundation. On the mound, Mason starts square on the rubber and takes the proper stride length, showing good mechanics and balance. He commands a fastball, curveball, and changeup, and continues to refine his pitching arsenal. At the plate, Mason starts with high hands and a strong rhythm, getting his knob to the catcher on time while using his hands and hips effectively to generate solid contact. His high baseball IQ, competitive nature, and playing with a chip on his shoulder make him a standout player that coaches truly appreciate. With his work ethic and strong foundation, Mason has a bright future ahead and will continue to develop into a versatile and impactful player.

07/25/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Elizabethtown, KY Mason Stanberry is a C/2B who throws and bats right-handed. In the infield he shows a lot of athleticism, sure hands and very good range. He is very familiar with reading the correct hops and has a very quick transfer. Behind the plate he is all hustle and extremely positive and encouraging when handling his pitchers. Mason also displayed very accurate arm. Stanberry also saw action on the mound with his fastball ranging from 47-50 MPH. He constantly challenged hitters by pounding the strike zone. At the plate his offensive play complimented his defense in a major way as he went 4 for 6, 2B, 3 BB, 3 RBI and 2 SB.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
