08/14/2016 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Mason is a young RHP that also plays SS. On the mound, Mason shows good linear action landing square to his target keeping a quiet head as he releases from a high 3/4 arm slot. His command is limited with all 3 pitches and gaining more confidence will help this young RHP be more effective. Defensively, Mason works low to the ball as he centers and covers laterally to his glove side. Glove to hand exchange is clean, showing good accuracy to his target on his throws. In the box, his easy load and direct path allows for Mason to square up the baseball and use all fields. Overall, this athletic two way player will get stronger and will continue to develop on the field and be a player to follow in the next 3 seasons.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
