01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Matthew is a talented/athletic, R/R OF/SS who showed well at the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. Defensively, he has active prep while taking a quick first step. He is aggressive and hustles to balls hit to his right and left. He works behind and through the ball well, gaining ground toward his target. Throws show accuracy and carry - 85 mph. At the plate, this righty has an open stance with fluid rhythm to load. He remains balanced throughout the swing and squares it up consistently. He connects and creates good extension through his finish, spraying line-drives (going 3 for 5 with 3 singles at the event). This 2021 grad possesses the tools that will easily translate into the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
