01/18/2013 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Matthew is a SS that will graduate in 2014. Foot speed is slightly above average as indicated by his 7.47 60 time. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square balls up. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front, improve foot speed, and play through a low approach to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Kuracz shows a solid setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as h he uses his lower half well. At the event, he was 2 for 5. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Matthew has abilities with time and room to improve.
