08/04/2010 - College Prep Super Regional - Middletown, CT - AM Matt is a young, thin, SS that will graduate in 2012. In the INF, Matt presents his glove will, works from the right, and uses 2 hands. He makes plays on balls hit his way and he throws accurately to his target. Matt will need to get his glove down sooner, field further out in front of his body, and quicken his feet in order to improve defensively. At the plate, Matt has a high hands and a loose grip. He has average bat speed and barrel accuracy, and can spray the ball to all fields. Matt will need to improve his stride, load, and his bat speed for offensive numbers to get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
