07/10/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Matthew is a 2B/OF who will graduate in 2024. Defensively at 2B, he hustles with active feet as he tries to work around the GB. He fields the ball smoothly with his backhand and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. In the OF, he takes solid angles as he tracks down hard-hit fly balls. He fields GB's with soft hands and plays through the ball towards his target. With the stick, Matthew shows an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He rips his lower 1/2 through and drives pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
