01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Matthew is a tall, athletic RHP/SS who will graduate in 2025. In the field, he starts in an athletic ready position and fields in a square position. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Range is a plus as he utilizes his foot quickness (7.20 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows an open, crouched setup. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Fastball showed a range of 77-83 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Overall, Matthew is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
